Rattleware 8-by-6-Inch Packing Mat Review

Solid mat holds up to heavy tamping pressure, protecting counter surfaces. Dimensions are accurate (6 x 8), but photo shows a mat with different dimensions. When new, the mat had a heavy (and offensive) rubber smell.Multiple washings have reduced the odor, and hopefully that reduction will continue.... The odor kept me from giving the product 5 stars.

Urnex Puro Caff Grinder Cleaner Review

I was a little skeptical because this is not the exact same version of this product as sold by 1stline, but I tried it out anyway. It did a fantastic job on my LeLit pl53 grinder, and it works significantly better now. Oily beans can really do a number on your high-end grinder, and having a cleaner like this around is a must!

Rattleware 5-Inch Easy Steam S10 Review

I have owned this product now for about 4 months and it has been a great help to me in frothing milk for cappuccinos and lattes. I am a fairly serious cappucino junkie, Expobar machine, Mazzer mini grinder.

This product works best on my 20oz frothing pitcher, which I use most to prepare coffee drinks for 2-3 people. The clip holds well and it can be used unattended during the start of the steam process.

But, when I try to use it on my 12oz pitcher, it does not attach well because of the large clip on this thermometer. So it is less useful on this size.

In all, I love the analog display and the color coded areas. It very quickly gives you an assessment of how close you are to frothing (+140) temperature without having to read the display too closely.

Not perfect, but a good product.

Rattleware 11-1/2-Inch Twist Bar Stirrer/Spoon Review

If you have tall glasses, this is a good long spoon for a good price.

It's sturdier than I thought it would be. It's also heavier, so if you have delicate tall glasses, you might want to take care that the spoon doesn't make the glass tip over when it's empty. My tall glasses have heavy bottoms and are fairly sturdy, so that's not a problem for me.

At first glance, I thought this spoon was okay looking, interesting but not beautiful. But now that I've gotten used to it, I've come to realize how attractive it is. A tall glass of iced tea or coffee with this spoon in it looks like something that belongs in a fancy cookbook. My kids also think the twist is fun. Even my husband likes to play at twirling it in his fingers. Cute.

The spoon is somewhat flat, but not more so than other long spoons I've seen.

All in all, a very good buy for the money.

Espresso Supply 2-Ounce Shot Glass Review

This is a nice shot glass, and the 1oz mark is extremely useful, especially if your espresso machine does not automatically stop brewing. However, the glass is 3" tall, and therefore does not fit properly with a DeLonghi EC155 Espresso Maker. You will have to move the glass aside and remove the metal grate in order to take your shot glass out from under the portafilter.

Espresso Supply 58-Milimeter Backflush Insert, Metal Review

As the item description states, this blind basket will fit into a 58-mm (commercial size) portafilter. In my case, it fit perfectly in a Gaggia New Baby 2006 portafilter.I attempted to backflush my machine and did worked! In my case backflushing does not appear to be necessary because only clear liquid came out and there didn't appear to be any build-up behind the shower screen (though there are many who will argue otherwise). At $4 I believe the cost is really reasonable even if I never use it on the Gaggia again, I can still probably use it on any other 58-mm portafilter machine.

Note: Remember that you can only backflush a machine with a 3-way valve. If you are unsure of whether your machine has one or not I would strongly recommend finding out before buying this and possibly damaging your machine!

Product Description:
Maintaining an espresso machine can not only extend the life of the machine but also provide more consistent and flavorful espresso. One of the most common ways of cleaning the screen and group head is to backflush the machine with a small amount of cleaner. In order to perform this cleaning you will need a blind filter or backflush insert for the portafilter. Espresso Supply offers the Metal Backflush Insert (02070-STD) which fits all 58 millimeter portafilters for cleaning. Backflush cleaning is recommended for commercial espresso machines with a three-way valve.

Urnex Cafiza, 20oz powder Review

This is amazing stuff - it only takes a little powder to get a lot of coffee stains off of equipment. It also doesn't leave a flavor behind. When I first used this I was working as a barista in a bookstore and was amazed at how quickly the powder removed a day's worth of coffee grunge from our espresso machine and coffee pots. The only trouble we ever had with it was when we used too much powder - then the powder didn't fully dissolve and had to be wiped off.But even then it didn't affect the taste of the espresso the next morning.I would say for home use, you probably don't need more than a half teaspoon to clean out a coffee pot.I will probably purchase some once it comes back in stock!
